NanoDays: Educating the Community in
Working in conjunction with University of Illinois' Nano-Cemms Education Center, Middle School students have volunteered their time to assist the community and provide hands-on demonstrations for all ages, focused on explaining the emerging technologies involved in the field of nanoscience. Both the Orpheum Children's Museum and the Champaign Public Library hosted the NanoDays events, while NGS students captained the stations that encompassed 3D printing, microfluidics, DNA extraction, anti-microbial nanoparticals and more. Visitors were able to get hands-on and participate in the fundementals of each station and then learn about the station's real life applications.
