Ms. Barb Sullivan founded Next Generation School over 30 years ago when she started a school for young children that is now to a multi-building campus where students of all ages come together each day to grow, learn and be nurtured. Her vision and commitment to education are evident in her passion for excellence and her unending dedication to each and every family.
Head of School
Ms. Chris Bronowski serves as our Head of School and co-chairs the Leadership Team. She overseas the Primary and Middle School and collaborates with her colleagues regarding curriculum implementation and teaching methods in all Next Generation programs.
Ms. Bronowski taught in our Primary D classroom for numerous years prior to moving into this administrative role. She earned her B.S. in Liberal Arts for Professional Education from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN and has endorsements for teaching grades K - 8. Before joining the Next Generation School faculty, she taught second and third grade in a Tennessee elementary school for nearly a decade. During that time, Ms. Bronowski also served as the Assistant Principal and chaired the School Improvement Team, a committee focused on curriculum improvement. Ms. Bronowski joined NGS in 2005.
Ms. Gudgel has over 30 years of finance experience. During this time she has worked as Bank Teller, Teller Supervisor, Card Services Manager and as Executive Assistant and Customer Service Officer before joining Next Generation School in October 2014.
NEXT GENERATION PRIMARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our Leadership Team, comprised of teachers from both Primary School (Paul Han and Ann Quackenbush) and Middle School (Nathan Back, Bryant Fritz, and Jennifer Knapp), serves as an advisory council and works together to ensure that the long-standing tradition of continuous improvement and progressive ideology endures at NGS.

Middle School Coordinator
Mr. Bryant Fritz works closely with families, students, and teachers to communicate and organize daily life with the Middle School.
Mr. Bryant Fritz graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Sciences in science education. While at EIU, he earned the accolade of College of Education Scholar. Mr. Fritz is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and has a particular passion for the biological sciences. He has served as a volunteer surveyor of channel catfish, largemouth bass and bluegill populations at Fox Ridge State Park, in addition to conducting research on the black crappie populations at Lake Charleston. Mr. Fritz is a regular contributor to the Chicago Tribune's blogs on invasive species and Asian Carp prevention and is a member of the EIU Botany Club and the Fish & Wildlife Club. He keeps students engaged in lab-based research and scientific methodology and regularly collaborates with leaders in STEM fields to create unique experiences for his students. Mr. Fritz is a certified Project Lead the Way instructor and is currently pursuing a Masters of Sciences in science education. His most recent accolade was being named 2014 Illinois State Science Teacher of the Year.
Admissions Director; Student & Family Life Coordinator
Ms. Kristin Sandone is our NGS Admissions Director, as well as our Student and Family Life Coordinator. As Admissions Director, she collaborates with prospective families and assists them through the process of applying for admission to the Primary and Middle School. Ms. Sandone communicates with families during various stages of the admission process.
As Student and Family Life Coordinator, Kristin works with our families, faculty, and administration while planning and sharing information about school and community events. She meets with teachers, community members, and administration to encourage and facilitate ongoing opportunities for our students outside the walls of Next Generation. Some of her projects include ongoing partnerships with the Eastern Illinois Foodbank, Carle Pediatrics, and Mills Breast Cancer Center.
Mrs. Sandone began working at Next Generation in 2006 as an after-school and summer camp counselor and has been an integral member of our staff since that time.
Ms. Moya handles all preliminary levels of student and family life, including activities and arranging tours for the Primary and Middle School. She is the program manager for student records and transcripts, ACE program logistics, after school activities, school publications, and the website.
Ms. Moya joined in 2011 after leaving a corporate managerial position that focused on customer service, charitable promotion and overall sales for branches in Illinois. Ms. Moya has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Eastern Illinois University and graduated Cum Laude in her program, while working for multiple publications (writing, editing and designing) throughout her academic career.
Ms. Brittney Strange assists in handling preliminary levels of student and family life, including activities, after school programs, and mailings. She is a dedicated member of our NGS team and is committed to ensuring the needs of students, families, and staff are met.
Ms. Strange moved to the Champaign area four years ago. She holds an Associate’s Degree of Arts and Science from Lincoln Trail College. Mrs. Nicklaus joined Next Generation in 2014.
Mr. Luke Bronowski has been a member of the NGS Primary and Middle School faculty since the school’s founding. Prior to that, he taught in the preschool, early education and after-school programs at Next Generation. Mr. Bronowski received his certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association through Parkland College, a nationally acclaimed kinesiology and personal training program. He has worked with a variety of all-region intercollegiate athletes in a variety of sports including mens and womens basketball, soccer, boxing and golf. Mr. Bronowski incorporates this experience into his role as a Physical Education Teacher, Athletic Director and coach.
NEXT GENERATION EARLY EDUCATION & PRESCHOOL
Marcy Wickert Sigler
Marcy Wickert Sigler has been a member of the Next Generation School faculty since 2008. Upon graduation from Parkland College, she began her career in early childhood education teaching our toddlers and three year olds. She was named Director in 2012. Her passion and enthusiasm for educating young children permeates every aspect of the early education program.
Ms. Denise Stweart joined the Next Generation faculty in 1996. Over the next eleven years, Denise worked as an intergral part of the teaching staff for multiple age groups and became Assistant Director in 2006.
Ms. Denise's duties include touring prospective families, maintaining student records, and providing support to the families and staff in the early education program.
Mrs. Chrissie McDaniel has worked at Next Generation School since December of 2002 and was a toddler teacher for eight years. Her knowledge of the early childhood classroom environment, as well as her loving nature, made her a perfect fit for the administrative team in August of 2012 when she became the Administrative Assistant for the Early Education Program.
Mrs. Chrissie's duties include facilitating communication throughout the school and preparing monthly newsletters for the Early Education and Preschool Programs. She serves as the first point of contact for all current and prospective families in the Early Education Program.
